Our History
Are the rumors true?
The desire to re-establish Lottie's atmosphere is strengthened through renovation. Cosmetic changes are made to the upstairs bar, and plans develop to refurbish the former Rathskellar. The past comes for a visit when construction begins on the basement and workers uncover three small bones on the morning of January 13, 2004, triggering an investigation by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Speculations form that the bones belong to a hoodlum from Lottie's day, just one more mystery to add to the puzzle. An unspoken pact of patrons, neighbors, and unlikely associates leave the rest of us to piece together what little we know of the rich history that took place in this very spot. So whether you're here to watch the game or simply enjoy a cold one, take a moment to look around. If you look hard enough, you might take notice of a patron with eyes that could tell a thousand stories.
