Our History
Chicago on the take
It's the roaring 20's and the city of Chicago rightfully gains its reputation as he nation's example of lawlessness during the reign of Republican Mayor "Big Bill" Thompson. 
The city's power-brokers, a coalition of corrupt politicians, brokers, real estate developers, tax assessors, and gangsters, join forces to fix the books and make money off the city, while the public is distracted with the issues of Prohibition. 
Chicago's dirty reputation becomes a focus of change with the election of a new democratic mayor, Anton Cermak. Sources say he becomes disliked by the coalition who previously ruled the city.
Turmoil ignites as Cermak tightens his reigins on Chicago mob scene. Perhaps it is fate that catches up with him, as Cermak is assassinated while campaigning with FDR.
